Engaging Resistant Families
Engaging resistant children and parents in trauma treatment is difficult at best. Traditionally, engagement and rapport building begins in the first face-to-face session. But more often than not it’s a harsh start-up. Join Dr. Scott Sells, Founder of the Family Trauma Institute, for a free webinar to learn techniques to quickly put parents at ease and excited to attend treatment.

Dr. Sells will share:

• The Motivational Phone Call Script and additional techniques such as “stick and move” and “complements” to quickly put your parents at ease and excited to attend treatment.

• The difference between a soft startup to begin treatment and a harsh startup and why you as the professional want a soft start-up.

• Audio excerpts from the actual Motivational Phone Call will be used to illustrate key concepts.

• How the key question helps the parent want to invite their extended family to participate in treatment as needed.
